Oh, you’re a man of parts! No, really. You actually read Pynchon, for one thing. You like Ahmed Jamal at the Pershing, an album you’re too young to have ever heard (I think I was 18 when it came out, a couple of years ago). You’re partial to contemporary art (why?). I thank you for the news about the Turner show, and I promise not to die before it comes to the Met (I will also go see it in Washington). I get lost sometimes in Turner. did you know that his paintings were once shown at MOMA, as he was the first modern painter (or so they said). I think I have that catalogue somewhere. You’re in the Keys as I write, and I am jealous. Do you have any suggestions of a warm place, in the keys, really unfancy, very laid back, unpretentious, ungay? Talk to me about all of these things when you get back…

Congratulations on finishing the thesis. It will be worth it. You can get back to a less hectic life, maybe? It was great to see you & Elaine last weekend. I feel bad that we didn’t get to Tiki Port, but we will.
Love to both from both.
